Students of Seri Mulia Sarjana International School (SMSIS) did their school proud once again by emerging on top of other competing schools at the recently concluded App Inventor Workshop jointly organised by Institut Teknology Brunei (ITB), BAG Networks, and Google Developer Groups (GDG) and supported by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI).

The workshop aims to develop the coding competency among children ages 12 and below gearing towards their participation in this year’s Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) and Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA). It also intends to encourage primary students to create a mobile educational application to help save the environment. The students presented their project entitled, “Save the Ozone” before a panel at AITI Building. The team comprised of four innovative students namely Germary, Syasya, Mateen and Abhinav succesfully defended their project before the panelists and emerged on top of Jerudong International School and St. Georges School who won second and third place respectively. The three teams are automatically qualified to join the BICTA competition in August this year.
