SMSIS welcomes guests from Islamic School Al-Azhar Timur Surabaya, Indonesia

As part of the school’s ethos on global citizenship, Seri Mulia Sarjana International School warmly welcomed 19 students, 5 teachers and 17 parents from Islamic School Al-Azhar Timur Surabaya, Indonesia on 6th February 2017.

The three- day visit aimed at providing their students to experience a great mix of academic studies and cultural activities through school visits. It also aimed at strengthening the use of their English language as they interact with others.

Aimed at visiting a registered Cambridge School as part of their overseas learning journey, the school chose SMSIs as their destination in Brunei.

The visitors were toured around the school, meeting and expanding friendships with the IS learners, getting acquainted with the school’s wide range of academic and co- curricular programmes and collaborating and interacting with the upper primary students which they had the chance to be involved in the teaching- learning activities inside the classrooms. They also got engaged in the Co – Curricular Activities (CCA) as they immersed themselves with the IS learners.

On 7th February 2017, the IS learners were impressed and thrilled to witness the participants who actively joined in the school’s Lunar New Year celebration as they rendered an impressive cultural performance which showcased the best of their tradition and culture.

The visit offered participants the unique experience to learn and immerse themselves in the diverse language and culture of SMSIS.

SMSIS provided support throughout their three- day stay and ensured the participants of getting a strong sense of belonging to its community.

The immersion/collaboration programme demonstrates the school’s commitment to offering its learners the best possible interactive experience.

To conclude their three day visit, a brief sharing session with the teachers and students was held as participants shared their thoughts and experiences of their visit. They also expressed their gratitude for the learnings they have gained for the last three days.

The successful visit ended with an exchange of souvenirs and a photo session.
