SMSIS Year 6 Learners visit Lapau

As part of the school’s program that aims to provide knowledge through enrichment activities outside the school environment, the Year 6 learners of Seri Mulia Sarjana International School had recently conducted an educational trip to the Royal Ceremonial Hall, better known as the Lapau, a magnificent building in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The visit was organised by the Malay, PSHE and MIB teachers in conjunction with His Majesty’s birthday celebration. They believed that getting out of school on a trip makes the learning involved more memorable.

In this place, they learnt that the present Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was crowned on 1st Aug 1968.

It provided the learners with the opportunities to explore learning for themselves and to expand their knowledge regarding the royal regalia used during His Majesty’s coronation.

This much-anticipated trip gave them insights on Brunei’s history, religion, culture and heritage. It captured the learners’ responsiveness and awareness of the beauty of Brunei.

As they headed back to school, the learners were extremely pleased and proud gaining exciting, relevant and challenging learnings from the trip.
