Seri Mulia Sarjana International School commemorated the cultural diversity of the students from different nations through its annual Global Citizenship Week celebration.

This year, the theme ‘Future in Me’, focused on developing students to be global citizens who can build greater impacts to the world through their leadership skills. The week-long celebration paved a way for the students in showcasing their skills and talents. Intercultural activities were lined up to help the students to be aware and to appreciate the diverse traditions around the globe.

GC Week commenced with the parade of national costumes and flags which was in line with the United Nations Day celebration. During the following days, the students were given the chance to test themselves with diversified activities which aimed to cultivate their talents and intellectual abilities to become great leaders of different nations.

Preschoolers at different levels joined and collaboratively worked together to check how far they can decode words in Spelling Quiz Bee while some of them participated in Colouring Contest. Simultaneously, a Declamation Contest about leadership was delivered by Year 1 and Year 2 and commendable discussions about matters were done by Year 3 and Year 4 students in the Debate Contest. The event was intensified when Year 5 students showcased their skills in speaking in Speech Choir. Selected students from Year 1 to 6 were also engaged in Chess Tournament, Scrabble Championship and Battle of the Brains.

SMSIS Got Talent highlighted the celebration where students from preschool, lower and upper primary showcased their singing and dancing prowess. The students and winners were awarded certificates for their remarkable participation and outstanding performances.

The celebration ended with a treat for Children’s Day. Seri Mulia Sarjana International School prepared goodies, bouncers, mini arcades and horseback riding for the students to enjoy.
