sA proud moment for our young eco-innovators! Our students recently celebrated their first vegetable harvest from their very own aeroponic system – a key milestone in our school’s Green Technology Initiative.
With the guidance and support of Teacher Joel and Teacher Marlowe, our learners explored sustainable, soil-free farming through aeroponics, discovery how technology can support food security while conserving water and space.
On the other hand, the modular vertical garden was designed to help reduce carbon dioxide levels and promote cleaner air within our school environment. This project challenged students to apply innovative thinking, smart sensors, and eco-conscious design to build green spaces that not only grow food but also care for the planet.
From school to table, our learners experienced the full journey of growing their own food and making healthy, climate-conscious choices.
The initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially:
SDG 2: Zero Hunger
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
SDG 13: Climate Action
At SMSIS, we don’t talk about sustainability – we grow it.
